  • Paul Revere has been in the news more lately than he has probably since his death in 1818. So it’s fitting that  Famous  Steve Martin and the bluegrass band he is working with, the Steep Canyon Rangers, recorded a new song honoring the patriot – just in time for the Fourth of July, to boot.

“Me and Paul Revere” is a tale of Revere’s ride – historically accurate, we hope – told from the perspective of his horse. It’s due out on iTunes tomorrow, but you can give a listen here.

When Martin first put out his bluegrass album, “The Crow” in 2009, fans thought it was an interesting diversion, but it has proven to be a new career path. It won the Grammy for bluegrass album of the year, prompting Martin to follow up with “Rare Bird Alert” earlier this year, along with an extensive tour that puts him in Washington DC on Independence Day. Enjoy the holiday with this new music.
