Latest Diana Hayden interview 2011

Diana Hayden entered filmdom after being crowned in international beauty pageant. However, she didn't fare as well as many other beauty queens did on the silver screen. She had to be content with a couple of hit movies only. So, she has shifted to the small screen, and that too not as an actor but as an anchor. She has been anchoring 'Biography Series' on the history Channel since May 16. Though usually the audience is not found keen on watching serious subjects, yet her anchoring of this serial has attracted a wide number of them. She is very much satisfied with herpresent role. Despite this, Diana is shooting for 'Ada' that is half complete. But the director is making amends in it in view of its story being similar to 'Aitraaz's. She has already done a bold film like 'Ab Bus'. However, she clarifies that she acted in it as a woman-oriented movie. But it was promoted as a bold movie, and turned a flop. Notwithstanding this, she is ready to act in Bollywood if she finds good films. Besides, she will anchor Ophra Winfrey like shows on television. We had a chat with her recently:

Will you tell us something about your serial on History Channel?

This serial is divided in three parts, and it will be telecast for three months. This series is made on the lives of the world's famous statesmen, players and Hollywood actors. Truly speaking, they were looking for an Indian face that could fit into the international set up. That's why the channel chose me for anchoring.

Did your background of an ex- Miss World help in your present assignment?

Yes, it helped me a lot. I have been interested in history, and I like novels based on biographies. I also like politics and sports. So, this anchoring has fulfilled my dream. This is a challenging job. For example, I have to take a neutral stand in politics. This is a difficult task though.

What has been your experience in this respect?

I have interviewed foreign statesman and also their Indian counterparts. It has been very interesting.

Can you name some Indian politician?

My interview with Natwar Singh was very interesting. He has a number of interesting incidents to narrate.

Don't you need to study a lot about these personalities?

Yes, it's not easy. However, its difficult to talk about their personalities in a given time of an hour.Besides, there are channel's guidelines too. For example, I had to delete the story of Hitler making buttons out of the people's bones. Since the episode is seen by children, this had to be deleted.

Any regret in this serial?

Yes, I am sorry that I couldn't talk to Dalai Lama in the latter's episode. A good anchor is one who can converse well and has enough patience to listen to others.

What are your plan for Bollywood?

I am shooting for 'Ada'. The half of it is ready. But the director wants to change it, as it looks similar to that of 'Aitraaz'.

How come did you do a bold film like 'Ab Bus'?

No, it wasn't a bold film as promoted later. It was a woman-oriented one. However, its promotion as a trendy film made it a flop. I shall never do bold scenes in films.

What's your future plan?

I want to do good films in Bollywood. Besides, I wish to anchor a chat show like Ophra Winfrey.
